Christmas Tapestry by Patricia Polacco
If you choose to read this aloud to your class… be ready for tears! Every single time I read this book I cry. Even though I know what is going to happen I still cry. Every. Single. Time.
A Fun Book Extension Activity…
A fun activity to complete at the end of this story is to have students complete their own tapestry including colors, patterns, and symbols that are important to their life story. This can be a simple sheet of white paper (construction or copy paper), crayons or colored pencils, and a ruler that the students can use to create their masterpiece.
This is a great activity for those last few days before winter break!
